When LocalSend is useful

LocalSend transfers files directly between devices on the same local network. It requires no internet access, no cloud relay, and no account. Use it when both devices are on the same Wi-Fi or wired LAN and you want a simple, encrypted local transfer without uploading to a third party.

What you need

Basic workflow

  1. Open LocalSend on all devices.
  2. Ensure the same network name appears on each device.
  3. Select files on the sender and choose the receiving device.
  4. Accept the transfer on the receiving device.
